Bathsheba - by Jill Eileen Smith
There are SO MANY reasons I loved this book (a few mentioned previously: http://passionatechildrensservant.blogspot.com/2011/03/bathsheeba-upcoming-book-review.html!
Attending a REAL Christian Church, our leaders role-model what it means to live a Christian life. They actually ask themselves the question: "What would Jesus do?" And then, they DO IT! I have learned NUMEROUS lessons from them; one of the greatest to not be judgemental of others. My mom was also an inspiration to me - always reminding me that you never know what someone has been through, which plays heavily on their actions. Her teaching taught me a love for others, leading to compassion for their life-hurts; rather than a "holier than thou" attitude.
For those familiar with the Biblical account of King David's relationship with Bathsheba, it is my opinion the author created a true-to-life scenario of how innocent encounters with the opposite sex can ease into the life of a married Christian; reaping havoc on the most stable Christian marriages. We are also reminded of the free flowing grace and forgiveness God provides all of His children-especially during the times we are most unworthy to receive it.
If you enjoy the history of the Old Testament and like to day-dream of the unwritten details, I PROMISE you will love this book! I already purchased the first book of this trilogy (Michal) and can't wait to start reading!
Jill Eileen Smith has more than twenty years of writing experience, and her writing has garnered acclaim in several competitions. Her research into the lives of David's wives has taken her from the Bible to Israel, and she particularly enjoys learning how women lived in Old Testament times. Smith is the author of the bestselling Michal and Abigail and lives with her family in southeast Michigan.

Bathsheeba - Upcoming Book Review
This is the most amazing book! I love historical Christian fiction - it creates a deep desire to go directly to The Word to separate fact from fiction.
This author's writing is flawless. The book is the third in a series: The Wives of King David. I already ordered/received the first book on Michal (King David's first wife, King Saul's daughter).
As you can see, the artwork on the cover is absolutely breath-taking. I know you're not suppose to "judge a book by it's cover" - but I can't help myself, I always do!

Quiet Time with the Father
While reading The Word this morning, He inspired me to create the following list of Prayer requests. These are a list of my DESPERATE prayer requests; ones I will pray frequently and continuously!
*Dear Father-Please help me to ALWAYS love and reverence YOU - above everything else.
*Please help me be/stay disciplined in Bible study EVERY day!
*Please help me to be selfless in all things-putting YOU above everyone/everything else! Protect me from idolatry, moral decline, and petty fighting.
*Please keep me aware of "Your still, small voice" - the gift of Your Holy Spirit living inside me (and all believers). Please help me to follow Your leading, even when it's uncomfortable. Please help me to be bold for You - knowing when the time is right (so as not to turn anyone away from You).
*Please protect my family from the evil one - please keep us in the palm of Your hand.
*Please protect our marriages - the ones existing and the ones to come. Please help me to pray without ceasing for this amazing gift of becoming One in Christ.
*Please help our entire family come to You and live by Your principles and guidance every day.
Amen.
