I had the amazing opportunity to read a book entitled Project Dad by Todd Carmell. Project Dad is a humorous and practical guide book, filled with warm and engaging information/advice that will have you laughing in the first few pages! Todd also provides hands-on advice for becoming a better dad. I really enjoyed reading (and highlighting) this book!
There were several reasons I asked to review this book:
1) Even though I’m a MOM, I felt confident some of the information/suggestions communicated could go BOTH WAYS (for both mom AND dad). I was RIGHT; I really enjoyed/learned a lot from this book!
2) I have an amazing son who was married in March of this year (and wants to be a father); having a copy of this book would allow me to pass it onto him (IF it was a good read – and it is!).
3) I thought I could leave it laying around the house for my husband to snatch up and read (YEA RIGHT! He HATES to read! Now, if we could get a DVD of the book – I might be able to get his attention!).
I was extremely blessed by being raised in a loving home with a dad who adored my sister and me. Not only did he adore us, he provided EVERYTHING we needed (and MUCH MORE!).

My father would, after a back breaking day at work, go outside and throw a football with me or play basketball or run around. He put me first and was very selfless. He trusted me to do grown-up things when I was young which gave me the confidence to do most things others my age couldn't do. My father was able to convince me, beyond all doubt, that he loved me unconditionally!

Thank you so much for sharing your relationship with your Dad. I know you were a blessing to him as well.
I remember my dad's sacrifice. My family and I grew up in a trailor park and I remember at one point that my dad worked three jobs in order to send my brothers and I to a Christian private school for our elementary and middle school years. I remember he worked just as hard to finally purchase a home when I was 15 years old. Just as Christ sacrificed for us my father lived a life full of sacrifices for my brothers and I while we were growing up. He is still a hard worker to this day!
